SUSTAINABILITY
Having built our first solar thermal manifold in 1981, sustainable practices are a core value and have been at the heart of the practice since its inception. Recent projects include ultra energy efficient, LEED Platinum and zero-energy buildings.
Each project undertaken is evaluated to understand applicable sustainable design strategies and then further reviewed during design to explore alternatives relative to the appropriateness of the systems and their immediate and long term costs. We are continually analyzing and investigating the performance of building systems and materials in order to minimize the carbon emissions and carbon footprint of our projects while maximizing daylighting and indoor air quality. Sustainability is the foundation of an inspiring architecture.
DESIGN APPROACH
Employing a co-creative design process, our practice is a collaborative of partnerships – a team that is motivated by architectural exploration while rooted in the understanding of site, program, and budget, with each member specifically tailored to the needs of the client and of the project.
Working closely with each client – whether individuals, institutions, community groups, or city agencies – we strive to listen and engage deeply to uncover goals and dreams. Investigating throughout the design process we discover together the relationships of built form to nature and the fit of budget to the possibilities of construction. The result is practical and artful.

We offer services as an owner’s representative including property selection, due diligence, feasibility analysis, site planning, entitlement processes with city agencies, and project management from pre-development through construction administration.
